What should I wear?
Comfortable loose fitting or stretch clothing is best, similar to what you may wear for walking and/or exercising.  Track pants, leggings, t-shirts and tank tops are all suitable - whichever you prefer.  Layering is also a good idea, as you may become warm during class and cool down again during relaxation (a pair of socks can come in handy then too).  Yoga is always practiced in bare feet, so slip on shoes will make this quicker and easier for you.
 
What should I bring?
Yoga Balance provides all the equipment you require, including yoga mats, bolsters and blankets, however you are welcome to bring your own if you wish to do so.  To enable you to practice at home and for health reasons, students are encouraged to purchase their own yoga mat.  Quality yoga mats, yoga props and accessories are available at Yoga Balance Studio & Gift Shop.
 
Can I eat before class?
It is recommended that you avoid eating for two hours prior to your yoga class if possible.  If you do feel the need to eat prior to class, a light snack is suggested rather than a full meal.
 
What are the benefits of yoga?
Yoga can improve your flexibility, energy, fitness, strength, sleep and general well-being, whilst also reducing stress, tension, discomfort, pain and anxiety.  Yoga is a great way of creating balance within all aspects of your life, whilst promoting a positive feeling of energy, health and well-being.  The most important factor is that you find yoga to be a relaxing, enjoyable and rewarding experience.
 
Is yoga suitable even if I dont feel as flexible or fit as I used to be?
Yes.  One of the wonderful aspects of yoga is that it is suitable for everybody... regardless of your age, ability, experience, fitness level or physical limitations.  Our yoga classes are designed to allow you to participate at your own pace and discover the holistic benefits of yoga within your own level of capability. 
 
What are the benefits of meditation?
Meditation can improve your memory, concentration and awareness, as well as reducing stress, anxiety and poor sleep patterns.  Meditation can also slow the ageing process and lower blood pressure, as well as decreasing the risk of heart disease, breast cancer and osteoporosis. The most important factor is that you find meditation to be a relaxing, enjoyable and rewarding experience.
 
Is a meditation class suitable even if I have never tried it before?
Yes.  Our meditation classes are designed for students who are already familiar with any form of meditation practice, as well as those with no prior meditation knowledge or experience.
 
Do I need to book prior to attending a class?
Yes.  Prior bookings are essential as class numbers are limited.
 
How many students are able to attend a class?
To ensure you receive the best possible attention, all classes are limited to a maximum of 9 students.
 
What is the duration of a yoga class?
Approximately 1.5 hours, including warm up and relaxation.
 
What is the duration of a meditation class?
Approximately 1 hour, including warm up and relaxation.
 
Where are classes held?
